Fotopub is an international festival of documentary photography and a string of photographic and multimedia storytelling workshops. It was first launched in 2001 and has been attracting many photographers and visitors who are eager to see the photographs. Festival Fotopub 2012 Title: Evrovizija; Art Director: Chris de Bode (The Netherlands)
Opening exhibition of the festival presents Greek-British photograhper George Georgiou and his exhibition Fault Lines. Turkey is a strategically important nation, poised geographically and symbolically between Europe and Asia. But the tensions at the heart of Turkey are becoming increasingly severe. Georgiou's work seeks to address and question the concept of East and West and the process of modernization, urbanization, and national identity that is happening against a rising tide of nationalism and religion. I have chosen to represent the changes by focusing on the quiet everyday life that most people in Turkey experience.
Opening Hours: Tuesday-Friday: 15:00-19:00; Saturday: 10:00-14:00
