Eight female members of the Šalek Artist Society from Velenje will create ceramic sculptures with little rolls of material resembling humans in natural size. They will be showcased in the Sun Park at the edge of the town. The ceramic sculptures will pay tribute to the classical perception of the human body from the Ancient Greeks and Romans, which changed through the Renaissance period up to the early twentieth century. During the twentieth century, the classical human figure was brought to life by artists and was used to manifest various aesthetic views and approaches. The sculptures will pay homage to clay and ceramics, two old but never neglected materials. Their home is art where they have been redesigned and reformed. This world of magic welcomes everyone. It’s a grateful and accessible media of expression.
Opening Hours: Monday-Friday: 8.00-19.00; Saturday-Sunday: 9.00-13.00 and 14.00-19.00.
