The exhibition »Angels of the Apocalypse« will connect the works of two great painting masters of the second half of the 20th century: the Serbian artist Vladimir Veličković, living and working in Paris since the 60s and the self-taught painter Jože Tisnikar from Slovenj Gradec. Their works show exceptional expressive power and are therefore considered the grandest painting accomplishments in European figural modernist art. A presentation of their work in Slovenj Gradec will shed light on their artistic endeavours, which are embedded with profound humanism, and which seem even more important nowadays – especially in a world where values disappear and attitudes die away. When art is understood as a mechanism of catharsis, it enables the emergence of new perspectives and utopias to build a better future on.
Opening Hours: Tuesday-Friday: 9:00-18:00; Saturday-Sunday: 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00
