For 2012, Maribor University Library composed an elaborate project of 12 literary evenings with Slovene authors and artists who are in any way connected to Maribor or other partner towns. The literary stations host renowned Slovene writers and authors who represent different generations and different literary genres, with the aim of incorporating a broad and varied spectre of audiences. The literary stations are also made attractive by a wide selection of locations, with the common theme being freshness, adequacy and the opening of literary space.
The ninth instalment of the Literary Station will be held in the Water Tower with Slovene writer and poet Feri Lainšček. Born in 1959 in Goričko, Lainšček is a prolific author, who published books for adults, as well as for the youth and children. His literary characters are often members of the lowest social strata and they almost always deal with borderline existential issues. The discussion will be hosted by Darka Tancer Kajnih.
