Amplified concords – music workshop (composition, sequencing, and production of electronic music)
INTRODUCTION – a lecture on the holistic approach to music production (what does it mean to produce music and manage sound frequencies in the context of human perception and senses; the definition of a contemporary music producer – studio design and comparison between professional “hardware” studios vs. home “software bedroom” studios; the presentation of basic terms of music production and its elements – sequencers, monitors, audio cars, MIDI controllers and synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, analogue vs. digital, the concept of VST instruments and effects).
CORE – theoretical and practical presentation of how to set up a home music studio, audio and MIDI connections of various external and software equipment into a creative production entirety, analytical presentation of how a software sequencer – as a basis of musical production – works, and what its key characteristics and capacities – when making music – are (Ableton, Cubase, Logic).
CONCLUSION – a practical presentation of taking apart the chosen professionally produced music to its base elements with the sequencer Cubase (a presentation of co-dependence and the feel of sound between different processors, effects, instruments, samples, etc.).
