Although specialized in different kinds of art and creating their works in distant cities and even countries, the Bulgarian artists Zhivko Sedlarski and Deni Ormanova have chosen during the last 5 years to exhibit their works together. Both of them have gone a long way in presenting their talents, creating fine art and pictures which won a remarkable number of awards and gained worldwide recognition. Zhivko Sedlarski graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, while Deni Ormanova completed her higher education as a Master of Economics in High Schools of Economics in Sofia, Bratislava and Moscow. However, her artistic talent soon took over and she decided to pursue a career in art, turning towards textile design and abstract textile art.
18 years ago, Zhivko Sedlarski (9 international awards, 16 individual and 30 co-exhibitions and more than 25 commissions) settled in Brittany, France, where he continues his sculpting experiments, using different materials and styles. Deni Ormanova on the other hand, who had dealt with painting all her life, did not devote herself entirely to painting until 1999. Her main sources of inspiration are her journeys to exotic places like Singapore. After holding 15 exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad, many of her works found new homes in private collections in Bulgaria, Turkey, Slovakia, France, Germany and USA.
Before coming to Maribor the artists held their last joint exhibition in August–September 2011 in the Council of Europe, Strasbourg.
