The village lies where the Komen Kras (Karst) sweeps steeply down to the Vipava Valley and where the Branica stream begins to meander peacefully towards the Vipava River. Even a casual visitor is captured by the charm of the high plateau in the
south-west and the wine-producing rolling hills in the east, which continue in the lowland to the north.
Just above the village the biggest and the oldest castle of the Primorska region – the Rihemberk Castle - is guarding over the valley. Not far away there is the small, yet picturesque, littoral hamlet of Pedrovo.
