Although the Grimm brothers’ fairy tale has seen many adaptations, this puppet rendition is not interested in new versions of the original story, but rather in re-enacting the original story while trying establis a playful dialogue between puppet and classical theatre. The performance was envisioned to capture the air of children’s play or a good-night story. The rendition by Svetlana Makarovič, originally created as a radio play, and a new translation of the original put the focal point on the magical and its reach - a quality we lack in everyday life, even if we are not aware of it. Little Red Riding Hood, a story which builds on the broadness of the viewer’s imagination, might just be the perfect encouragement to remind everyone of that little bit of magic we lost.
