The “Pinter Abroad” project started in September 2011 with an international symposium on the contemporary British playwright Harold Pinter, accompanied by a theatre workshop focused on staging Pinter’s plays held by the Canadian professor Michael Devine from Acadia University, Nova Scotia, and three stage productions: Pinter – In Other Rooms directed by Robert Gordon and performed by members of the Pinter Centre for Research in Performance and Creative Writing at the University of London, Paper Pinter, a theatre of shadows performance by Scena Carina from Belgrade, and Old Times directed by Peter Boštjančič and performed by the group KUD Studio Gledališče.
Translating Pinter
In November 2012 we are preparing a cycle of events with the common title Translating Pinter, which will include a lecture about the characteristics of Pinter’s style and the specifics of translating his plays, a translation workshop and an interview with the drama translator Zdravko Duša. All events will take place at the Faculty of Arts, University of Maribor and will be open for general public. They share the same subject, so we warmly invite you to attend all three.
On Wednesday 21 November 2012 at 14:00 we invite you to attend the interview with the Slovene drama translator Zdravko Duša, who has translated several Pinter’s texts. The interview will take place at the Faculty of Arts, University of Maribor, room 2.9/FF and will be held in Slovene.
