The purpose of the project Chronicler of Novo mesto is a lasting photographic documentation of the cultural, art, socio-political, economic, sports, social, public, and private life in Novo mesto and its surroundings. The chronicler – under the patronage of the Historical Archive Ljubljana, unit for Dolenjska, Bela krajina, and Novo mesto – is the renowned documentary photographer from Novo mesto, Boštjan Pucelj. The chronicler of Novo mesto will create an extensive collection of photographs, created in a longer timespan. The collection will become the central space of visual memory for the contemporary history of Novo mesto, and will as such serve the researches of local and general history, as well as the interested public in general. At the discussion evening, the guests will present the project and speak of various aspects of creating and editing the collection; additionally, they will present existing photographic collections from the past, which are kept in various cultural institutions in Dolenjska region.
