This is an exhibition of original old, black-and-white and colour, around 100-year-old postcards of Maribor depicting several town buildings of which round number anniversaries we are celebrating this year. The postcards are from 1900 to 1940, from the beginning of the 20th century up to the Second World War, and will be exhibited on small stands on shelves in an 80-year-old wooden and glass bourgeois display cabinet made around the same time than the postcards. The exhibition of old postcards from Boris Šinkovič’s private collection will be launched only a few days after 4 December, a day when Maribor was first mentioned as a town in 1254. It will be dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the first postcard of Maribor, the 100th anniversary of the Maribor Municipal building, and the round number anniversaries of the construction of certain town buildings. In December, the Brown Postcard photo gallery will be open from Monday to Thursday from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm, and from Friday to Sunday from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm.
