The theatre play Golden Bird is an adaptation of a well known folktale, written down by Matija Valjavec.
Familiarizing with the simplest folk thought got the Women’s Choir of the Velenje kindergarten to research new ways in creating vocal and sound upgrade of a choir. The vocal scenery is interwoven with the simple percussion rhythms, reminiscent of known children’s and folk songs. Making contact with the young viewer are also the simple lyrics with a somewhat “antique” touch on phrasing and some forgotten old popular words. The creative happiness and energy are combined with pantomimic moves of the expressive dancers, bringing the feelings of wonder, tension, humour, relaxation, and pleasure to the young viewer. The scenery is simple, but offers and supports a child’s experience and imagination with selected illustrations by Ančka Gošnik Godec.
This large group of actors (expert workers of Velenje kindergarten, and the the expert workers of Velenje kindergarten women’s choir) manages to preserve the purity and directiveness of children, which knows how to recreate – every time to awake it, sing it, play it, dance it, and share it with children.
