The Model Aircraft Festival in the town of Lesce is the biggest event in Slovenia for model makers, and also attracts enthusiasts from neighbouring countries.
The Model Aircraft Festival brings together model makers from Slovenia and as far afield as Austria, Italy, Germany and Croatia. A model exhibition is on display in the airport hangar. While there is an emphasis on models produced by Slovene manufacturers and constructors, other interesting models are also displayed.
A commission of experts assesses the appearance of the models, as well as their behaviour in the air, and awards accolades to the best. Here, model makers will find traders in model making materials, while at the flea market you can avail yourself of the opportunity to buy or sell used models.
