Historical sources report that in the 19th century five mills operated on the Savski potok stream. Stajnko's mill operated until the year 1984, when the last mill operator died. In the year 1995 at the Association for the Protection of Natural and Historical Heritage Maribor, a conservation programme for the revitalization of the abandoned mill was made. With the filigran precision and carving skills, the renowned mill expert Konrad Repa and his assistants renovated the mill so that its original soul has been preserved besides new elements which are necessary for the more functional use of the mill. Stajnko's mill represents a well-chosen combination of elements from different periods of the technological development of mill trade. Besides its functional meaning, it also has a monumental, tourist and educational meaning.
