Ormož castle is surrounded by one of the most beautiful parks in Slovenia where many different kinds of trees grow (among them also some exotic examples - the ginkgo, which is considered to be one of the oldest trees in the world; 'maklura, whose fruits are similar to oranges; a giant oak, avenues planted with linden trees which used to serve as a riding path for the castle lords; the catalpa, maple-leaf plane tree , gillyflower, the tulip tree). Also a tomb, constructed in the beginning of the 20th century, stands in the middle of the Ormož Park. Buried there, the last owners of Ormož Castle from the Wurmbrand-Stuppach, Pongratz and Georgevits families. Around the park, you can also be guided by a local tourist guide (see the list).
