This nucleated settlement lies between the Savinja railway in the north (Celje-Velenje) and the Podvinska Struga stream in the south. The settlement is known for a number of features of interest such as the source of the Lava stream and a fish pond covering an area of 13.5 hectares which was badly affected by a flood in 1990.

The man-made Vrbje fish pond represents a significant part of this and its large water surface is of both environmental and economic importance.
