Shopping represents an integral part of every journey and frequently signifies a part of the experience that you can bring home. Regardless of whether you intentionally go shopping in Slovenia or whether it’s simply a momentary pang of inspiration or opportunity offered to you on a sales shelf, you can find numerous products that are worth buying and taking home with you. You can find a whole range of quality products with favourable prices that will not take up much room in your travelling bag or suitcase.

Slovenian souvenirs

The offer in Slovenian stores is varied and comparable to the majority of Western European countries; moreover, some products can only be found in Slovenia. Naturally, this also includes many typical Slovenian souvenirs. A special place among these Slovenian souvenirs is occupied by various trade and artistic products. This includes, especially, ceramic products, such as majolica – Slovenian jugs for water and wine that are used as ornaments or as usable objects. Also known internationally are the wooden products from Ribnica, such as baskets or spoons. A typical Slovenian wooden product is the beehive panel – painted sides of beehives. An exceptionally beautiful souvenir from Slovenia is a unique lace product, such as Idria lace, or the unique crystal products handcrafted by the experienced glass blowers at Rogaška Slatina. Another unique souvenir includes decorative sweets from lect. A definitive winner is the purchase of a high-quality Slovenian wine or Karst prosciutto.

Additional tips
