Get to know the salt-making traditions of the Slovenian Adriatic coast! During your visit the Salt Making Festival will take place in the area – you will have an opportunity to observe the method of salt crystal obtaining.
After visiting the ancient town of Piran, which celebrates the great virtuoso violinist Giuseppe Tartini in its main square, you will freshen up with the kind of lunch typically eaten by saltpan workers. You will also visit the traditional saltpans at Sečovlje Salina Nature Park. The saltpans have been in operation since 804. You will be amazed by their size, biodiversity and nevertheless traditional salt-making methods.
From the seaside we will head to the nearby hills of the Istrian peninsula, where local traditions and culinary specialties will be shown to you. In Padna, a village situated just above olive groves with a view reaching all the way to see the Sea on one side and the Alps on the other, you will taste typical Istrian cuisine.
