The beautiful scarlet red limestone - half marble that can be found on the Šumet homestead along the Panoramic Road, has been used for construction by the locals since the old days. With plates of the Solčava marble (also called the Logar limestone) the Church of Our Lady of the Snows in Solčava was paved. Numerous chapels and monuments, baptismal stone and house linings have been made from this decorative stone. Nowadays, Medard Šumet, a local stonecutter, makes souvenirs, usable and decorative objects of domestic and artistic value.
