Above the square, ruins of the Old castle, dating from the 12th century, are preserved. As mentioned in sources, the castle Castrum Trahburck, dominated the view of the town up until the middle of the 19th century. Today, only the west wall of the once towered palace, still remains. In the 13th century, a little lower on the opposite bank of the river Drava, the ''Pukštanj'' fortress was built, which controlled the passage from the Drava into the Mislinja Valley. Today, in Bukovje, the remaining ruins of the Romanesque fort-like castle can be seen. On the flat land at the base of the castle is a preserved manor house which was built at the beginning of the 18th century, when the Pukštanj castle was, for the second time, engulfed in flames. Today the building houses the Slovenia military.
