Writer and parish priest Franc Ksaver Meško was born in 1874 at Ključarovcih near Ormož. Despite undertaking strict theological study, he started to record his rich knowledge of world literature and obvious talent for storytelling in short stories, tales and dramatic  works as a 22 year old seminarist. While he was serving at Koroška by the Klopinjsko Lake he began to gather material and ideas from farm and domestic life, which he found in the typical Koroška patriotism at the time of the plebiscite. Later in the obscure parish at Selah, where he is buried in the cemetery of the picturesque church of St. Rok, with his benevolent presence he inspired many a local artistic soul. Ordinary people also came to him for advice or a kind word.  His works, which were published in the collections of the Mohorjeva Society, were always well received by the local inhabitants. The Meško memorial room is housed in the local presbytery, and the town library also carries his name. The Ksaver Meško town library, apart from regular duties, collects, with special care national materials and organises regular displays of new literary works. Around 36,000 books are borrowed each year at a volume doubling their value, which indicates that the area boasts a well developed reading culture. The library has branches in Mislinj and Podgorje. Part of the work is covered by school libraries, adapted for the needs of pupils, and the high school's library is directing its efforts towards forming a technical library for economics and the social sciences, as well as gradually updating its other media offering.
