The representative office in Italy promotes Slovenia as a tourist destination in the Italian market. Its aim is to increase the profile of Slovenia in Italy and increase the number of arrivals and overnights by Italian tourists. The representative office is in charge of carrying out the programme of market communication in the Italian market. In doing so it addresses professional circles, the general public, and the media. It carries out sales promotion activities and organises workshops at which partners from Slovenia’s commercial tourist sector are presented to Italian tourism workers. In addition to this it organises numerous fair appearances in Italy, where Slovenian partners are represented alongside SPIRIT Slovenia. It also devotes considerable attention to public relations, especially cooperation with journalists, whereby it seeks indirectly and directly to stimulate greater coverage of Slovenia in the Italian media.
An important task of the representative office in Italy is the ongoing monitoring of events in the Italian tourist market and collection of data that are vitally important for making marketing decisions and formulating marketing strategies.
