Russian Animation Film Week

Founded in 1936, the animated film studio Souzmultfilm is the oldest animation studio in Russia. The studio produced more than 1400 films, with a vast number of the films winning numerous awards at prestigious international festivals. Most of the films belong to the Russian as well as international “golden fund” of animated film. As part of Maribor 2012 – European Capital of Culture, the Souzmultfilm studio, in cooperation with the Russkiy Mir Foundation and the Russian Centre in Maribor, presents a festival featuring the best films from their vast collection. The festival will run from February 11th until February 15th, 2013, in Maribor, Velenje,  Murska Sobota, and Ljubljana. The programme includes meetings with authors ­ painters and filmmakers, as well as an exhibition of film sketches and paintings from the studio museum. The exhibition and meetings will be held in the lobby of the Cinema Udarnik.
