The Animateka international festival of animated film introduces new productions of short animated films in Eastern in Central Europe every year, and has thus became a regional focal point for sharing experiences among Slovenian and foreign directors, students, selectors, journalists, and audiences. One of the central festival programs in 2012 will be the child and youth Program ‘Elephant,’ which will organize a comprehensive educational program for children, young people, and adults. Animateka draws a map of world production with a systematic selection of animated films, and in this way provides a greater diversity of cultural events and programs, which can then be chosen by Slovenian audience and audiences from other countries, in the area where Slovenian cultural space has nothing much to offer
