"Move to Maribor" is a public initiative which will call on the inhabitants of Maribor to create a communal space with their presence, and others to visit the town and “inhabit” it.
The story consists of four festivals with diversified programs encompassing a wide range of modern dances. A series of events will take place throughout 2012: NagiB Parkour, Platform (Platforma), Modul Dance and Enlightened Motion(Osvetljeni Vzgib) . We plan to move into the town and to move in it. Our aim is to bring modern dance to the public through a variety of strategies: we will organize world-class performances, dance film evenings, discussions and parties. We will take over the town and draw a map of locations on which we can travel, dance and run.
Activating the town and participating in the story demands much more than being a mere bystander or visitor; it calls for bold travellers who are willing to acquaint themselves with new places, modern dance, and the town itself from a fresh perspective.
