Conductor Živa Ploj Peršuh has become a staple of Slovene music with her diligent work, immense talent and vast knowledge. She always manages to surprise the expert public by delivering fresh and convincing renditions of musical classics. On this occasion she will be joined by world-famous Slovene trombone player Branimir Slokar, who lives and works abroad, yet never misses a chance to return home and share his musical knowledge with young musicians. This year Slokar will serve as mentor at the MIO2012. Živa Ploj Peršuh, Branimir Slokar and the Maribor International Orchestra will perform a rendition of Nino Rota’s Concerto per Trombone e Orchestra, while the young conductor will bravely tackle the demanding scores of Stravinsky’s Card Game and Dvořák's Smphony in G major.
