The Cultural Olympiad project, part of the 2012 London Olympics, is the most extensive cultural project in the history of the Olympics and Paralympics games. Beginning in 2008, the Cultural Olympiad encompasses four years’ worth of programmes and projects inspired by the London Olympics. The World event young artist, which will be presented in Nottingham in September 2012 is the largest world-wide event for young artists, presenting works by international artists in a joint exhibition. The aim of the exhibition, which will be presented in Maribor is to encourage networking between young British artists, chosen in the national programme UK Young Artists, and Slovene young artists. The exhibition includes the most talented and innovative young artists from Great Britain who regularly appear in national and international events. Slovenian Young Artists is the umbrella project by ŠKUC Society, creating opportunities for young Slovene artists who have given the brand-name international recognition.
