Najevnik lime is the matron of all limes in Slovenia. It is 770 years old, and has a circumference of 12,5 meters at waist height. The lime is in the middle of a basin, and on the northern side is densely overgrown with moos and lichen. There is an entrance to its interior on the south side. Tradition claims that 12 lime trees grew together on Najevnik farm, which is why this lime is so large and powerful. The first meeting of Slovene statesmen was held at Najevnik lime in Avgust 1991 and became a traditional event every year in July.
