Strojna is a village of solitary farms. Above the core with the church of St. Ulrich (sv. Urh) stands the great Janež Homestead, a real settlement of various buildings. The older part of the homestead was built in the 17th and 18th centuries on the levelled-off area below the road.
The main buildings are a residence house, a stable, two granaries and a workshop. All the buildings are made of wood and covered with shingles. Only the residence house has a built stone basement part. Together with the irregular frontage by the path, it forms a floor plan in the shape of the letter L. The present house is comprised of two older buildings: by the "black" kitchen and two residence areas, a former independent granary was added on. The unified building was put together with a wide promenade balcony and a wide projecting roof. The nucleus of the building is comprised of three compartments. In the middle there is a built and vaulted "black" kitchen with two hearths for stoves in both rooms by the sides. Opposite the room in the lengthening piece there is a bedroom arranged, formerly an area with a chimney stove. Experts have also highly valued a farm building with a floor plan in the letter T and a wide trail.
