The Borštnik Meeting, the oldest and largest festival of Slovenian theater, hopes to strengthen relations with European centers of modern theater with its international program Bridges (Mostovi). The 2012 festival program will place greater emphasis on the national program, by relating to it, commenting on it, and enabling the Slovenian theater community to confront and communicate with global theatrical trends. The guest shows offer an overview of the most important theatrical creations from the wider Slovenian region, Europe and other continents.
The ECC will position the Borštnik Meeting among the most influential international theater festivals, and at the same time Maribor will acquire the status of an influential center for international theater festivals.
