Tomo Križnar devoted a large part of his life to raising awareness about the human rights violations in Sudan. After his return from Sudan, Križnar will describe his experiences and encounters as well as provide an update on the recent developments in Sudan at the ŠTUNF Festival. The travelogue presentation will also feature a screening of Križnar’s recent film The Eyes and the Ears of God – Video Surveillance of Sudan, a collection of video material collected from 1979 – 2012, chronicling the covert annihilation of the indigenous peoples living in an area rich with natural resources: the Nuba Mountains, Darfur, Abyei and Blue Nile. The film shows the power of the camera, as the footage is used by the prosecutors at the International Criminal Court in The Hague as evidence of the genocide in Sudan.
In collaboration with EPeKa and the Club of Maribor Students, different hair salons offered special deals on haircuts throughout June, with the amount the customers usually pay for a haircut being donated to charity.
The gathered funds will be donated to the H.O.P.E. Foundation which will use them to purchase miniature cameras, used to capture the brutal crimes against the people of Sudan.
